I wanted to take a breather this time and tackled something that I've been interested in doing for a few weeks. I'm a frequent browser of pinterest and would continually come by these bright yogurts with frosted fruits. Some even had these weird metallic balls that reminded me of old coke rock candies. So I whipped something up using one of my old soup systems. I also made use of Adrien Lelièvre's fantastic Mesh Tilt. Which allowed me to bake mesh information into an atlas and transition fluidly between states with tile samplers. This created great variation and took away the primary rigid downside to working proceduraly with baked geometry.
Sidenote: I've made use of non uniform tiling in the marmoset viewer as the sphere was deforming the dragon fruit spheres into ovals at standard tiling. This sadly creates a seam on the back.
